Its back to school time once again.. I just finished my first day back and it was simply exhausting. I am fully spent though I do have tomorrow off which is a blessing. I am just looking at the calendar and realising there is no other break until December. I do have Sri Lanka to look forward to but it is still quite a ways off.
The Titans lost this morning to the Jaguars which is really upsetting but it looks like I will win in Fantasy football which would make up for it... its still to be played out. Nothing worse than losing in FF and the Titans losing as well, its a double loss.
Also yesterday marked the 10 year anniversary of Sept. 11th. I still remember it very well. I was in the middle of a Humanities quiz during my Sr. year in high school when I went to ask my dad a question. I stepped into the room with him where he was speaking to Mr Wilbur and Mr Harris and they were pulling a TV set out. They told me what was happening as the events were still occurring. They brought the TV to the front of the class and we all watched in horror as moments after the TV was turned on the second plane crashed into the towers. I remember feeling pride that they were able to still stand after being hit when suddenly they began to collapse one after the other and a sickening feeling as we watched people jumping to their deaths. We were dismissed and I remember the roads being eerily clear and empty. Every shop was closed and no one was out. Radios for days played only the news, every channel on TV was news coverage. I spent the one year anniversary in Yalova and the 10th year anniversary in Jakarta. Last night for the first time since it happened I was able to watch a documentary on what happened. For some reason no matter how much I love documentaries I have never been able to watch them on this subject. I have watched a few moments then get disgusted at either the act or the representation. Don't know why, can't explain it. They just upset me. Watched one last night and it was pretty hard to watch. They played the audio of family members leaving messages to their loved ones before crashing. Not much else to say..
