Yesterday was my day off and wow did I need it. I have been working really hard now even on my days off burning the candle at both ends. So yesterday I woke up at 7:30 (which is sleeping in these days) and cleaned my apartment, ate loads of Ayam muglia paratha's, then went to the gym and had a good long run. I am really starting to enjoy not just my apartment but also the location which is really prime. I also just discovered that the shopping centre adjacent to me is installing a monorail. I didn't know that monorails still existed and all I can think of is the Simpsons episode where the whole town is swindled by a monorail salesman.
I've got a long day ahead of me, classes, meetings, grading, etc..
Once again its that time of the year again for people in the northern hemisphere where its getting a bit darker and a bit colder. The strangest thing about living near the equator is the fact that nothing changes. I watch the months roll by on the calendar but feel no change. It can be quite disorienting if you've never experienced it before. The only time I really even think about it is when I read facebook posts from my friends complaining about the cold. What I wouldn't give for one cold evening... at least cool... Of course, when you have 3-5 months of cold weather ahead of you the perspective is different. I would like just 1 maybe two days of cool weather, not a whole season.
