In rhythm

It always takes a good few weeks but I feel like I am finally in a good rhythm. I am teaching well and getting reports done. I'm not having any trouble with waking up (aside from the odd alarm clock problems). I'm settled. I just got a fan for my apartment which is really great, sounds simple but in tropical heat you don't really want to just blast your a/c all the time. A fan gently blows all the heat out an open window and keeps the room cool without being cold or wasting electricity. Why ceiling fans are not common here I will never know.

My next break is not until Christmas and boy that feels a long way off... Last year we had sooo many 1 or 2 days off. It really broke things up and made things more manageable. This year, not so much... With the restructuring of the finances and administration MSA is getting as much work out of us as they can. I can't blame them either, these reforms needed to be done. However, it was nice getting a day off now and again to recharge your batteries.

Also, last night just before going to bed I read on BBC news that after 42 years Col. Gaddafi was killed while trying to escape a battle in Sirte the last remaining town under his control. I've been waiting for this to happen for some time. He went crazy and was no doubt a murderer. But I can't help wishing for a trial or some form of justice. An errand bullet striking him at the end of a battle and his body being dragged through the streets doesn't scream democracy and no matter how horrid a man may be he is still human. Easy for me to say I know, he didn't rape and murder my family but still. Celebrating a persons death always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
