The last two days have not been so much fun. I got a nasty case of food poisoning along with about 5-6 other teachers who were given some Manadonese food. On Saturday I had to leave the christmas production as I was increasingly ill until the point where I had to go home and sleep at around 11 am. I ended up sleeping (aside from a few bathroom visits) until around 6 am the next day. Yesterday was much improved though I still was not completely well. I was able to eat and that made me feel a whole lot better. The worst part about all of this aside from missing my own class party is that my grades are due tomorrow and I really haven't even touched my exams yet. I'm sure I'll get an extension day but I still have loads of work to do in a very short period of time.
In other news, I was showered with christmas presents by my students over the last few days and when you are feeling ill theres nothing better than being shown continually that you are appreciated so that was very nice.
Also... one of my students parents have offered... to lend me their car! I got a call last night and they said I could have it for now. I don't know if they just mean over the christmas break or the remainder of my time here but regardless its an amazing gesture as a car over here costs roughly twice what it does in the west. A Honda over here is about the same price as a bmw in the west so this is a big deal to say the least...
Also, Kim Jong il died today.. I haven't processed it yet but wow.
