Subterranean homesick title

Another week begins..

Yesterday I went with a group of friend to Ancol this time to go to Dufan (Dunior Fantasy... Fantasy world). Its Jakarta's version of Disney world. We arrived around noon and left by 5 having ridden 4 rides. Yes 4 rides.... It was fun and I did enjoy the company but standing in line for over an hour for a ride that last less than 5 minutes can really get to you. I of course was the driver and coordinator, financier, navigator, and at times pack mule so by the end of the day I was absolutely exhausted.

After Dufan we went to a nice restaurant on the beach before heading back to Jakarta. I ended up getting a little lost before finding the way back but for the love of God... driving on the toll roads in Jakarta at night is one of the most terrifying and frustrating things I have dealt with while living in Indonesia. People drive like mad cowboys bent on their own destruction most of the time over here. But due to the traffic they are usually driving no faster than 40 kph. On the toll roads however they are able to go as fast as they want leading to some idiots flying down the road at 170 kph right past trucks doing 20 kph! Add the darkness of night and a bit of rain and your left with absolute terror. I spent nearly 2 hours trying to find our way home while trying much harder to keep us from being killed! There are no rules, no speed limits, no common courtesies, no turn signals, just madness... utter madness.

I arrived home by 10pm whereupon I immediately had to write 2 lectures one on Decolonisation and another on the the 3rd crusade. I then woke up at 4am this morning to start my day. I have to give a devotion this morning then 6 straight hours of teaching followed by 2 meetings. Its going to be a loooong day.
