Thus begins the last true week of school. Review week has begun with exam week to follow. I leave in less than two weeks... I went from being hesitantly excited to elated and now to being in the grips of fear as I begin to calculate all the work I will have to do before I go.
Review week is such a misleading calm. I do my best to prepare my students and provide them with all the information they may need but for the most part it is a fairly easy week. Not much to do or prepare. Next week however will be anything but at as I must grade furiously and pack up all my things. I'm trying to get as much done this week as I can but its a lot of hurry up and wait to be honest.
Yesterday I went to Jakarta's highland gathering, exactly what you would suspect from an Asian metropolis. It was a classic highland gathering with bagpipes, hammer throwing, and ship burning. All good fun although it was very hot! The dry season has obviously begun and things don't really cool down anymore so I smelled a right mess by the end of the day. All in all a great day.
