I just had my first completely indonesian conversation over the phone! Speaking over the phone is one of the hardest means of communication. In person you can see the persons intonation, when written you can slow down and re read, but over the phone everything goes out the window...
I am slowing getting a grasp of this language and although I still have difficulty when people speak too fast I can usually understand enough to keep a conversation.
Anyway, I'm happy I achieved this milestone.
Dude! That is a HUGE milestone in a language! I remember my first all Spanish phone call. I ordered pizza! Hahaha! I was so proud of myself though! Its a huge deal!! Congrats to you!!!!
