finally well

I've been under the weather for the last few days from a brief spell of stomach un-wellness to a nasty case of "flu" I woke up this morning feeling just fine so I am very thankful for that.

I just received my christmas presents from my parents but I don't exactly have a christmas tree so it will just have to sit by my desk for now.

Next week is review week so that means tomorrow is the last official day of classes. I can't believe how fast it has come.. This may have been the fastest semester since my very first. Last year was absolutely hell as I had a split weekend and went 3 months without any form of holiday. I remember this time last year I was spread beyond thin and desperate for a break. I am much more relaxed this year with a proper weekend and a few one day holidays thrown in to ease the workload. I am continually reminded of how blessed I am and how amazing it is that I can do the things that I have been doing so far.

I was just reading some more sad news out of Spain where in one town 1 out of 3 people are unemployed so they have a monthly lottery to give menial jobs that only last a month but at least provide a small pittance. Living here in Indonesia amongst people who have so little I can't help but be annoyed by these people. They have lived off of their governments so long that they don't know how to provide for themselves. Here in Jakarta I am constantly amazed by the work ethic and abilities of those who are doing anything they can to provide for their families. They don't spend money they don't have and do whatever it takes. I keep reading about these people who are unemployed for 5+ years "looking" for jobs. 5 years?! There are so many jobs available in the world, they may not be exactly what you want or what you trained for but if it gives you money and puts food on your table then can you really complain? I am so sick and tired of socialism...
