trapped

Sometimes I can feel trapped by the traffic in Jakarta. Last night a group of my friends all tried to get together. One had to travel from the airport quite a ways away but the rest of us lived relatively close to each other. I tried my best but was blocked in by unbelievable traffic. As the cities roadways are so poorly managed a traffic jam 30 miles away can easily affect you leaving you questioning why on earth is the traffic so bad?! I gave up after an hour and as it turns out only one of the 6 people were able to get to the restaurant even close to our reservation time. Its hard not to feel trapped when you cant even do something as simple as meet a few friends for dinner.

  1. That is seriously crazy! Im not going to lie, but I got really annoyed when they blocked off Hillsboro down to one lane on each side. When we were stopped at a light I was probably 20 cars back. I felt myself start to bubble from the inside. Guess next time that happens I'll reconsider my situation a little!

    1. Haha, yeah 20 cars doesn't even count as traffic here. The rule of thumb is if there is movement its not traffic even if that movement is at 2 mph... at least there is movement. It can easily take 1-2 hours to go 5 miles away depending on the time of day.
