Yesterday I went home from work just as it began to rain outside. I had plans to see a movie with friends so I just went home to change out of work clothes and shower.. Within a few moments the rain had turned into a torrential downpour. My windows were rocked by the wind and by the ferocity of the rain. I left my apartment no more than half an hour after I had arrived and in that brief amount of time the roads had become flooded and traffic had come to a standstill. I was forced to turn back and thankfully was able to get back to my home. I was effectively trapped by the flood that surrounded my apartment building. Thankfully by this morning the water had receded and I was able to get to work.
I'm looking forward to the long weekend ahead due to Chinese New year. Gong xi fa cai!
Oh man! Reminds me of the Franklin flood a couple years ago! Isn't is crazy how fast rain water can rise? Be safe! Glad you turned around, although going to a movie would have been a lot more fun!
