Wednesdays

Wednesdays are great, I wake up with a spring in my step because I know that its going to be an easy day and then I can sleep in tomorrow. I will be moving back into my old place this coming friday so I will once again have football in my life! I just can't wait. Also I will be closer to Ambassador which means no more worries about having to walk half an hour to get to any restaurant or grocery store. And of course I will be getting good sleep as I wont be near any mosques. On the downside, the apartment I am in now has a big tv with HBO and their laundry service is much better. The biggest plus is that I know this will (should) be my last move while I am here. My new place will be my permanent residence. I still have the option to move into a nice house in South Jakarta but I reeeally don't want to deal with bad traffic, waiting on someone else, getting up even earlier, all the things that come with living 45 minutes away from work. I'm just too old for a roommate I think.

I definitely have the swing of things here. I know what I have to do and am doing a decent job. I love my students and they love me so most every day is a joy. It got me thinking though last night, I've been here just shy of 4 months.. first off like any extended travel it feels like both yesterday and forever ago that I was in the states. I think living in Swiss last year really prepared me for this because it really hasn't been that hard to be away from everyone I know. Of course I miss them and there are days where I really miss them but its not as tough as it was last year at all. I say that but I am only 4 months in. One thing that is getting annoying is the tiny window I have to talk to people from home in that we have a 12 hour time difference. If you don't catch me in a 1-2 hour window then its a no go.

Anyways, time to face the day and get to grading because I am giving tests for the rest of the week so I can't get too far behind.
