friday morning

This week has been a busy one. I started off by teaching the devotional on Monday and Tuesday which are my two busiest days to begin with. and have had meetings and sports day activities as well to further compete for my time. And on top of it all the grading averages are due. The announcement was made at yesterdays teachers meeting that we will continue to have a thursday meeting for the remainder of the semester... So my one true day off all week will have a meeting at 3 in it. Its a little beyond ridiculous. I understand the idea behind the meetings but they tend to be redundant and unnecessarily long.

On a different topic I was finally convinced to get a massage. I don't know if its because I am western or a guy or what but the idea of a complete stranger touching me for an extended period of time just seems weird to me. But my wrist is still quite injured and I have been told that the masseuse can help so I went along. I was taken to a place and led into a small room with a old lady who then immediately expected me to take off my clothes. I didn't get a changing room and a towel or anything. It was just, "okay take off your clothes now." I took off my shirt and laid down but then she insisted that I take my pants off as well... I did so feeling even more awkward, but that was just the beginning. Over the course of the next hour she proceeded to massage just about every inch of my body. I had to on a couple of occasions tell her as politely as I could that she was not welcome in certain areas. She still managed to give me a near medical check up though. It was both relaxing and bizarre, but my wrist did feel better afterwards. It feels the same as it did before the massage now so I don't really think it did too much but oh well. Anyway, I have now had an Indonesian massage though it may be some time before I ever do so again.
