frustration

There were some people at my apartment that decided to have an all night party last night... Thankfully I have grown to become a heavier sleeper since moving to Indonesia but even still I was woken up many times throughout the night. At times I am really taken aback by how inconsiderate people are. I don't really want to say Indonesians because I think the reality is that I have never really lived in a big city before and a lot of my complaints would be filed regardless of what country I were living in. But after having a rough night due to inconsiderate neighbors I was driving to work when on multiple occasions I was nearly run off the road by motorcyclists. In a normal day I would hardly notice as it is standard practice over here but on a day that I am already a bit annoyed it really got to me. I really miss warm southern hospitality and overall regard for fellow man.

I was speaking to an expat the other day and he was mentioning how he is afraid he is being changed by living here and that he finds himself yelling at taxi drivers. Living amongst rude people tends to turn everyone rude I suppose....

In other news I found something of an alternative option to my living situation. I have been really struggling with the fact that if I moved into a new apartment I wouldn't be saving hardly any money at all and yet I couldn't stand to keep living at my kost for much longer. However, I have recently discovered "residences". They are much larger than a kost yet not quite as large as an apartment. The benefit lies in that there will be not utilities costs and I will still have a maid. So for roughly one million rp more a month I can have a proper place to live without stretching my budget too far. Problem perhaps solved. Now I just need to find the right one...
