Unexpected holiday

I just learned that I will be having a holiday this coming Friday! Its Seclusion day in Bali which is thusly a national holiday. It is a day when you must stay in your house all day "secluded" to reflect on your past year and the year to come. It originates in the idea that after making much noise the night before the surrounding demons are aroused only to find no one the following day, they then leave the area. It is only really celebrated on the island of Bali. One of the joys of living in another country is celebrating new festivals or holidays. When I lived in Switzerland I lived in the Protestant canton Vaud but I lived very close to the Catholic canton Valais. The two cantons would often have celebrations or holidays that were not celebrated in the other. So myself and others would travel between the two to celebrate as much as possible.

I spent my day off yesterday looking for a new place to live. I found a few good places but they are all currently full. I need to decide by tomorrow if I will continue to live where I am or move... Since I have a holiday coming up in about a week I think I might just save the money and go somewhere fun instead. I looked at tickets yesterday for a trip to Thailand, Laos, or Bali.
