Week 2 begins.... now

Today marks the second week of classes at Morning Star however, considering much of last week was comprised of introductions this is the first real week. I'm still behind in creating my annual lesson plans for my new courses but otherwise in check. Having two days off as opposed to just one makes all the difference in the world. I am refreshed and revitalised.

Also, today the Mars rover completed its 8 month journey and landed safely on the red planet. A good day for science. Historically perhaps, this day is best remembered as the day that an atomic weapon was first used in aggression when the Enola gay dropped "little boy" on Hiroshima in 1945. Science at its most impressive and terrifying marking the same day some 60 years apart.
