Riots pt 2

The protests haven't really stopped just slowed down. Thankfully I am so far away from it that it doesn't affect me and as an added bonus we are stopping school early today. Tomorrow is supposed to be the big day so we shall see how that goes. Traffic is still light as everyone is just waiting to see what will happen.

This really is nothing like 1998 though. That was years of built up pressure blowing up. They also had a serious issue with a dictator who refused to give up power. This is just anger over fuel prices. Most of the demonstrations have been completely peaceful. The only scary ones are taking place outside of the Presidents house. The really bad protests will probably take place on the other islands anyway. Still though, some of the wealthy Jakartans are already heading to Bogor to wait this out.

Last night my pool team played against the best team in the league. A group of professional players, serious guys who take the game way too seriously. I ended up playing one of the best guys on their team and came away with a tie. For someone who has only been playing the game for about a year I have massively improved and I somehow play much better the more pressure there is.
